Our web design and development service covers new sites end to end: strategy, design, build, launch. How much does custom WordPress development cost?
Custom theme builds typically run $12,000 to $40,000. Standalone plugin or integration work usually lands between $4,000 and $20,000 depending on complexity. Migrations start around $3,500. We quote fixed price after a scoping session rather than billing open-ended hours.
Do I own the code?
Completely. The code, the repository, the hosting account and the domain are yours, handed over at launch. No proprietary framework and no licence you have to keep paying to keep your own site running.
Can my team still edit the site afterwards?
Yes — that is a design requirement on every build, not an afterthought. Editable regions are built properly, the content model is documented, and you get a written guide and a recorded walkthrough. Needing a developer to change a headline means the build was done badly.
Will you work with a site another agency built?
Regularly. We audit it first and give you a straight assessment, including when the honest answer is that rebuilding costs less than continuing to patch. We will not pretend a bad inheritance is salvageable to win the retainer.
Can you migrate us off Wix, Squarespace or Shopify?
Yes, and the SEO side is the part that matters. Every URL gets mapped and 301-redirected before launch, with rankings monitored after. Migrations that skip that step routinely lose half their organic traffic and it can take a year to recover.
Do you build headless WordPress?
We can, and we will usually talk you out of it. Headless is right for genuine multi-channel content delivery and wrong for most business websites, where it adds cost and complexity and takes the editing experience away from your team. If your case is the real one, we will say so.
My site is slow. Can you fix it?
Almost always. We profile it first — slow sites are usually slow for structural reasons like unoptimised queries, bloated page-builder output or a plugin doing something expensive on every load. Another caching plugin on top of that hides the symptom and makes the real cause harder to find.
Do you offer ongoing maintenance?
Yes — staged updates, security monitoring, tested backups, uptime checks and a monthly block of development time. Hosting can sit on our managed servers or your own account.
How long does a custom build take?
Eight to sixteen weeks for a custom theme, four to ten for plugin or integration work, two to four for a straightforward migration. Complex WooCommerce runs longer. You get a schedule with the fixed quote.
